FAQs – General Questions

What are the latest news about DefCamp 2023?

DefCamp 2023 will take place full offline, bringing under the same roof infosec experts and decision makers to discuss the latest threats and trends from the cybersecurity market. Due to the past few years when everything moved mainly online, cybersecurity has become a priority and it needs a strong community ready to face all challenges.

How can I attend DefCamp 2023?

DefCamp 2023 is full onsite. So you can join us only in-person in Bucharest, Romania like always and meet cyber security experts, industry leaders and companies interested in improving their overall security.

We will have the Expo Area available for all attendees as well as exciting cybersecurity competitions in the Hacking Village. We’ll have prizes so make sure you come prepared 😉

Do you have capacity limitations?

While the location we proposed has room for more than 2,000 people at the same time, we will limit the capacity to create a safe experience for everyone.

In the best interest of attendee comfort and safety we would limit attendance to ensure that proper distancing is maintained and capacity limits are following the national guidelines and regulations. It is recommended that you secure a badge with us when we open the registration process.

Nevertheless, we will follow the news and keep you informed if something changes in the meantime or new requirements are needed in order to comply with the authorities’ recommendations.

What health measures & protocols is DefCamp taking to ensure a safe environment on-site?

DefCamp is working closely with the venue to provide a safe and healthy experience for all.

We recommend everyone to wear a mask and ensure a safe distancing to make sure everything will go smoothly. Moreover, we will comply with whatever safety measures are required of us and we take the organization of the proper environment seriously to ensure a smooth DefCamp 2023.

What about the queues, lines and other large density areas?

We will increase the space for the registration area to make sure no crowded areas will exist and everything should take place smoothly. The event will be adjusted in such a way that people will be able to have enough space to keep distance with other partners. Social distancing will be introduced at any aspect of the event.

This may include distanced seating in event rooms, traffic lanes in the hallways, larger rooms, more strategic areas for food and drinks, dedicated entry and exit points, and more.

There will be dedicated support onsite to ensure our rules are being followed.

Will food be served and what will that look like?

Food & Drinks will be provided but we will adhere to safety measures.

What happens if DefCamp has to cancel the in-person event or is shut down – can I get a refund?

In the event the national requirements force us to reduce the number of on-site tickets, we will comply and downgrade the last registration for a potential refund. That is why we recommend  you to hurry up and secure your seat right after the registration is open, to make sure you will be able to join no matter what.

Are there any ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

You should be at least 18 years old for night activities but usually no activity organized during the day will need a specific age. However, we encourage you to ask permission from your legal guardian if you are younger than 18 years and/or invite him as well. We have lots of activities for non-technical people as well.
