First speakers for DefCamp 2025 are in!

DefCamp is back on November 13-14, at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, and this year, it’s set to deliver even greater value for cybersecurity professionals and business leaders.

DefCamp has always been where hacking meets cybersecurity. In 2025, we’re taking that fusion to the next level. Expect hands-on tech, cutting-edge demos, and the raw hacker energy we’re known for – now paired with a stronger focus on strategy, leadership, and organizational resilience.

The first confirmed speakers are IN, and the newly added business panels are setting the stage for our strongest content yet.

DefCamp 2025 is something you don’t want to miss if cybersecurity is on your strategic agenda.

Infosec content that hits different

DefCamp has always been grounded in the cybersecurity community, built by and for those who live and breathe the hacker mindset. In 2025, we’re expanding the conversation. We’re bringing together technical practitioners and strategic decision-makers to bridge hands-on expertise with leadership vision. DefCamp is now the essential meeting ground for the entire cybersecurity ecosystem – from the SOC to the C-suite.

What continues to set DefCamp apart is our cutting-edge technical content – the foundation of our community and reputation. In 2025, that tradition is evolving to meet today’s challenges head-on.

From live demos of zero-click AI exploits to sharp strategies for navigating compliance chaos, from unpacking social engineering tactics to exposing cloud misconfigurations – the first wave of speakers is already shaping up to be next level.

Here’s who’s taking the stage – so far

Since we launched the Call for Papers for DefCamp in April this year, we’ve received:

270 presentation proposals

✔ over 200 unique speakers from all around the world

OMG, wow! 🤯

And what you’re seeing now is only the start. We still have two more speaker selection rounds ahead, and we’re already blown away by the depth and diversity behind the proposals.

It’s been tough: every talk we’ve accepted so far went through fierce debate and a lot of back and forth. Because this year, the bar is higher.

And with that, meet the minds shaping DefCamp 2025!

We’ve been waiting for the right moment to bring Johnny Xmas to DefCamp, and 2025 is it. His talk, “Poisoning Pidgins in the Park,” will walk you through a real supply-chain attack uncovered not by a pro, but by a hobbyist with zero formal infosec background. This will be a wake-up call for anyone trying to break into cybersecurity, and a reality check for those already inside.

Cloud misconfigurations still reign supreme, and Victoria Shutenko is here to show you why. In “Breaking the Cloud. Finding and Exploiting Misconfigurations in AWS,” she’ll dive into AWS pentesting with real attack paths and tools like CloudFox, Prowler, and Pacu. Expect hands-on examples and stories from the field.

Want to know how attackers really stick around once they’re inside? Hasain Alshakarti returns to DefCamp to show you exactly that. His session “Avoid Being Bounced from the Party – Persistence for fun & Profit” pulls from real-world intrusions, from state-sponsored to straight-up criminal, and shows how adversaries maintain access while flying under the radar.

Then we flip the script: from defending against attackers to defending against AI. Inbar Raz takes you deep into zero-click territory in “0-Click Compromise Hits the Enterprise – thx AI!” where AI assistants like Copilot, ChatGPT, and Gemini become attack surfaces. Think you’re safe because your users are trained not to click? Think again. No clicks needed. No creds. No warnings. Just prompts and full access.

On the defense side, George Dobrea will show how AI-powered threat intelligence is giving defenders a chance to catch up. His talk “AI-Powered Threat Intelligence: A Game Changer for Cyber Crisis Management” offers a look at how orgs can move from reactive firefighting to proactive, automated response strategies.

And for anyone wrestling with compliance (NIS2, GDPR, DORA – all the acronyms), Mathew Caplan is cutting through the noise with “Stop Making Nonsense – Cutting through compliance complexity”. It’s compliance without the headaches. Real-world frameworks. Actual results. And yes, it’s actually very entertaining.

More speakers are still confirming, and two application rounds are yet to come.

Why cybersecurity strategy deserves a seat at the executive table

This year, DefCamp is turning up the volume on the business and leadership side of cybersecurity. We believe cybersecurity is everyone’s business now, from the server room to the boardroom. Our business panels bring leaders, strategists, and visionaries onto the stage to tackle the big questions shaping the future of cyber.

Panels will cover:

🟠 Deepfakes & vibe hacking: the next frontier of social engineering

🟠 Supply‑chain and infrastructure resilience in the current landscape

🟠 Public systems, private threats: cyber defense strategies for governments

🟠 Securing the backbone: cyber defense for critical infrastructure in the age of AI threats

🟠 Building the future: entrepreneurship in cybersecurity

🟠 and so much more!

As cybersecurity challenges and threats grow in complexity and scale, the need to align technical solutions with strategic decision-making has never been more urgent. That’s why we’re bringing the boardroom to the stage.

At DefCamp 2025, we’re building a platform where cybersecurity leaders – including CISOs, founders, and policymakers – connect directly with the practitioner community.

Through curated panels and strategic discussions, we’re bridging the gap between technical depth and executive decision-making. It’s where actionable insights drive smarter strategies, and cybersecurity challenges are translated into business-ready solutions.

Get ready to talk about building real resilience. About anticipating risk, driving innovation, and shaping how businesses, governments, and institutions stay secure in a constantly shifting digital landscape.
