Cybersecurity is a topic that Jan is focusing his whole professional life on. In the past 4 years the main focus was on DNS protocol and how this well-known protocol is used with attacks. Currently he works as a solution architect at Infoblox, where he deals with the technical side of Secure DNS solutions. You can follow him on LinkedIn where he also shares examples and threats.
DNS protocol in the hands of the attacker
DNS is a protocol that everyone knows about. Most people don’t think about connection with any attack. We will review interesting cases of DNS usage by attackers in recent times, how attackers see this protocol as an open highway for stealth communication like C2, the use of DNS by botnets or ATP groups stealing information or money.
