Position Summary
Our team is looking for a Application Support Engineer (virtualization / admin)!
Role responsibilities:
- Perform customer support (via phone / email) for Keysight virtualization platforms: CloudLens, vPB, KVO
- Installation, configuration, maintenance, tuning and troubleshooting of VMware environment running on vSphere 7.0+.
- Installation of ESXi Host and vCenter Server
- Responsible for ESXI Host Server Health Check and Performance Monitoring
- Networking: create, maintain and debug of virtual networks and switches
- Storage operations: redundancy, performance improvement
- Resource management: define and enforce VM deployment & usage policies
- Install, manage, debug VMWare, vCenter, KVM, Docker and Kubernetes
- Deploy virtual machines / containers on mentioned platforms and perform regular sanity checks
- Low level debugging of deployed virtual machines / containers
- Performing VMware crash/error analysis, Root cause Analysis, Coordinate Post Problem Analysis and Trend Analysis.
- Linux system operation (install, upgrade, maintenance)
Requirements:
- Operating System Proficiency, including Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, etc.)
- Private cloud: VMware (ESXI, vCenter, NSX), OpenStack , Hyper-v and Nutanix (nice to have)
- Public cloud: AWS/Azure, Google Cloud (nice to have)
- Server Hardware Management
- Virtualization, including VMware or Kubernetes
- Scripting, including PowerShell, Bash
- Network VM Management, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
- Security, including best practices, patch management, vulnerability assessments.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting
- Prior Customer Support Experience.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
