IoT botnets? How do they work?
The Mirai botnet has brought public awareness to the danger of poorly secured embedded devices. Its impact have been devastating and variants of it will be around for a long time. In this talk i will present how Linux-based malware scan, infect, propagate, and launch DDoS attacks. I will also talk about how to collect new samples for study, some changes that have occurred since release of the source code. Lastly, i’ll talk about how we can identify their C&C servers and how to track what the operators are targeting (and sometimes what they talk about 🙂 )
